When they needed a specialized turbocharger development for their acclaimed Alpina B3 and B4 models, they turned to us to turn their engineering vision into reality.

The Alpina B3 and B4 are built on BMW’s formidable S58 engine platform. While this engine is famously known for high-revving track performance, Alpina’s DNA demands a different philosophy: effortless, linear power delivery combined with daily driving luxury.

To achieve this distinct driving character, the client requested a specific engineering solution requiring high torque at low rpm whilst maintaining high end power. We designed the turbochargers with an optimized turbine housing scroll accommodating quick compressor spool-up times.

Unlike standard engineering consultancies, we didn't just stop at the digital design phase. To guarantee the strict quality standards that customers expect, this entire platform was brought to life under our own roof. Both design and assembly are performed within the Tachyon Engineering facility in Eemnes, the Netherlands.
