History:
Car purchased by current owner in March 1999 from friend who build the car from bare chassis. Since then the car was constantly improved, regardless of costs, to improve speed and reliability. Prepared + maintained by Milestone Motorsport. This Mustang is now one of the fastest, but also most reliable racing Fords in Europe.
Palmares:
Numerous first in class at Dutch Historic Race meetings.
4 times first in class incl. 3rd overall in Cento Oro Classica (Italy) 2003-2006.
First in class/17th overall in Nurburgring 400km.
Participated and many podium finishes:
6 hours Franchorchamps, 400 AvD Nurburgring, (classic) Tour de France, Springbok series South Africa, Top Hat series Chimay, Rockingham, Franchorchamps
Other:
Over the past years we have developed the car into an extremely reliable, but very fast historic race car. On most tracks it is faster than most well developed Porsche 911's, Lotus-Cortina's etc. The Mustang offers the best (and probably fastest) way to classic car racing, for the dollar. It is very easy to drive, very simple to maintain and extremely reliable! A full season can be done with simply renewing brake-pads (even though a whole Cento Oro event, 3 circuit races and 8 hill climbs) can be done and still half remains!) and further a top-up of oil. The engine pulls from 3000 rpm up to well over 7000rpm (though I shift at max. of 6600 rpm). Many times I drove the car to Zandvoort over the public roads, raced the weekend and drove home with the Cups! As someone remarked: "it is just like certain women, you don't want to be seen with them, but what a hell of a lot of fun!
